How swine flu spreads in humans
How swine flu spreads in humans
A new strain of influenza is infecting people in Mexico and the United States and may have killed up to 60 people in Mexico, global health officials said today. The CDC has analyzed samples of the H1N1 virus from some of the U.S. patients, all of whom have recovered, and said it is a never-before-seen mixture of viruses from swine, birds and humans. Here are some facts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about how swine flu spreads in humans: Swine flu viruses typically sicken pigs, not humans. Most cases occur when people come in contact with infected pigs or contaminated objects moving from people to pigs. Pigs can catch human and avian or bird flu. When flu viruses from different species infect pigs, they can mix inside the pig and new, mixed viruses can emerge. Pigs can pass mutated viruses back to humans and they can be passed from human to human. Transmission among humans is thought to occur in the same way as seasonal flu - by touching something with flu viruses and then touching their mouth or nose, and through coughing or sneezing. Symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to those of seasonal influenza - sudden fever, coughing, muscle aches and extreme fatigue. This new strain also appears to cause more diarrhea and vomiting than normal flu. Vaccines are available to be given to pigs to prevent swine influenza. There is no vaccine to protect humans from swine flu although the CDC is formulating one. The seasonal influenza vaccine may help provide partial protection against swine H3N2, but not swine H1N1 viruses, like the one circulating now. People cannot catch swine flu from eating pork or pork products. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit kills the swine flu virus as it does other bacteria and viruses. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...,5114253.story |

What are some good things to know for fighting the flu (not necessarily Swine Flu) if you catch it? Some homemade remedies and what not?

Re: How swine flu spreads in humans
I think colloidal silver is good though I have never tried it. Garlic. Vitamin C in high doses while keeping your blood sugar low should also work. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables especially raw before you get sick to boost your immune function.
I haven't done a lot of research on the subject though. I am sure there are lots of other things that would help as well. |

People sweat buckets when they have flu. Don't mess about; get adequate water or water based fluids into the system any way you can - by mouth, drip or even rectally if the sufferer is vomiting and no sterile drip is available. |
Re: How swine flu spreads in humans
What if all this swine flu news turns out to be a new law that prevents us from owning our own pigs or chickens?
Just asking? |
Re: How swine flu spreads in humans
Keep your system loaded down with garlic, and ain't nothin gonna touch ya.
If anything the feds will seek to ban self medication, since there are alot of natural remedies out there. Gimmie a half tablespoon of fresh garlic on some stir fry, and I'll shake hands with half the superdome. Easy Peesy. |

Re: How swine flu spreads in humans
The pig (arotic) heart vavle is used daily for vavle replacemant. I did not think of that, however pigs and cows that are used for human transplant are all in control herds which do not come in contact with any other livestock.

Re: How swine flu spreads in humans
Chop up one button of garlic (not a whole bulb) mix it in with a spoon ful of honey and eat it RAW. Follow up with a cup of tea.
You WILL FEEL the virus being killed in your body. It is a strange feeling. |
